2001 MEDALLION RECOGNITION AWARDS

Once a year NEF is honored to announce the educator recipients of the Academy Medallion Awards. All teachers participating in professional development through the NEF Academy or the JCI Academy of Energy Education are considered for this recognition.

Teachers demonstrate the implementation of various energy or natural resource education by submitting portfolios documenting their individual programs. The portfolio illustrates the classroom activities, as well as public relations school and community involvement. The portfolio also becomes the basis for rewarding teachers with university graduate credit.

A few teachers each year distinguish themselves by going far beyond the suggested activities and requirements and bringing an individual creativity to their implementation. Their commitment to students and learning in general, and to energy education in particular is exceptional. They are outstanding professionals and NEF is proud to acknowledge their accomplishments with a cash recognition and a mini grant for free materials.
