National Energy Foundation is pleased to announce Lori Traweek and Linda Rozett as the two newest members of its board of directors.
Lori Traweek is the senior vice president and chief operating officer of American Gas Association (AGA), which represents over 200 local energy companies and covers 91 percent of natural gas customers in the United States.
Linda Rozett, aside from being an ABC News producer for many years, was vice president of communications for American Petroleum Institute (API). API is the only national trade association that represents all aspects of the natural gas and oil industry.
Prior to her current responsibilities at AGA, Ms. Traweek was integrally involved in pipeline safety and environmental advocacy. Her involvement including serving on the executive steering team of the Department of Transportation’s Distribution Integrity Management Program, and participating in the launch of the Common Ground Alliance – a collaborative organization with the goal of reducing excavation damage of underground facilities. Before joining AGA, Ms. Traweek worked as an offshore and onshore engineer for Arco Oil and Gas Co. in Texas and Louisiana. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from Purdue University and a Bachelor of Science degree in communications from Ithaca College.
Previously, Ms. Rozett ran her own public relations firm, First Word Strategies, where she developed and executed successful communications plans on issues of public concern, including: immigration, energy, trade, piracy and counterfeiting, and government regulation. Ms. Rozett served as communications director for Senator Fred Thompson’s presidential exploratory committee in 2007, where she established communications capabilities for the nascent campaign committee, including media, research, and web-based outreach. She holds a Bachelor of Arts with Distinction in English from the University of Virginia, and lives with her husband in Arlington, Virginia.
Both Lori Traweek and Linda Rozett bring an extensive background in government relations and the energy industry to the NEF board. NEF would like to thank and welcome both of these distinguished women to the board of directors.
