SALT LAKE CITY, UT – Today, National Energy Foundation (NEF) and Utah state leaders will recognize over one hundred state employees in the Capitol rotunda for their efforts in being more energy efficient in the workplace. This event recognizes departments and employees’ work in making our state more energy efficient.
Utah’s employees play a role in meeting Utah’s energy goal of a 20% improvement in energy efficiency by 2015.
NEF’s Think! Energy Utah program was launched on May 27, 2009, when Governor Herbert challenged all state employees to be more energy efficient. The Governor asked state employees to lead the way.
Dianne Nielson complimented the group, "These state employees are dedicated to improving our state by being more efficient and taking action to save energy. They are leaders in the state and are changing the way our state does business."
Employees and state departments were honored for their efforts in conserving energy.
