and National Awards Presented to National Energy Foundation
Recognition
given for education of environmental
awareness
SALT LAKE CITY, UT – (June 30, 2006) — The
National Energy Foundation (NEF) received awards from the
Utah Board of Oil, Gas and Mining and the American Coal
Council earlier this Spring for its excellence in education
of natural resources, energy and the environment.
Eight local companies were given the Utah Board of Oil,
Gas and Mining Earth Day Award on April 26, 2006 in Salt
Lake City. The award was given to six mining operations,
a construction company and an energy education foundation,
NEF. Awards were given honoring organizations that go above
and beyond the regulatory requirements in protecting the
environment while providing natural resources.
The American Coal Council presented six national ACC
Excellence Awards. National Energy Foundation was one of
the organizations recognized for their actions in public
information, energy education and public service. The awards
were given at an inaugural Awards Luncheon on May 23, 2006
in Birmingham, Alabama.

National Energy Foundation is a unique 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization
dedicated to promoting and cultivating an energy literate society
through educational programs. NEF recognizes the importance and
contribution of natural resources to our economy, national security,
environment and quality of life.
